Face2Camera 1.0
user's manual

1. Installation

Start Layout. Use Layout->Plugins->Add Plugins or Edit Plugins (Alt+F11) and select face2cam.p file. You will be told that 1 plug-in have been successfully added. You will find this plugin in Object Properties panel in Displacement pop-up menu.

The plugin works only with valid RandomCloner key file.

2. Usage

The plugin operates on geometry of one object. It is able to find different parts of the object - clones of the same model. It works perfect with RandomCloner. It rotates the clones directly into your camera (or other object) position.

3. Interface

Clone points - number of single clone points.
Clones - automatically computed number of clones in the selected object (depends on clone points). If this value is not integer type it means that you entered 'clone points' wrong. You cannot have for instance 10 clones and a half :-)
Target object - object to face to it.
Pivot Type - The plugin is unable to determine where your original clone's pivot was positioned. Here you can select how it should be computed. You can choose from:
first point - first point of each clone would be taken as a pivot,
average of first two points,
average of first and last point,
last point,
H,P Align - at leas one of those axis should be selected. H align allow clones to rotate over their Y-axis, P align - X-axis.

4. Miscellaneous

You can add extra point to your clone template before cloning as a first or last point to easy select pivot position.
Local clone coords system is a guess so in some cases it may be wrong.
Remember that it is based on first two points of the clone and average of the rest. First two points of object determine the plane for local X axis so there should be in XY plane. There is no need to set them exactly to local X axis direction.
