TUTORIAL1 - STEP5
RandomCloner
What can we do with RandomCloner plugin - adding reality to our images.
|
 |
In real world you can find random objects everywhere. In a
grass field grow different plants, lying stones, old leaves etc. It is difficult
to make it manually. RandomCloner help you to spread any object on surface
of the other. |
|
You can use the same terrain you use for a grass field. If you didn't
downloaded it in previous part you can
download it here. We will spread items on its surface. First make
blooming grasses.
Make the model as simple as possible with texture and UV maps.
|
 |
Remember to put the grass sample in the origin of the axis.
With RandomCloner you can easily spread this simple object on your terrain
with random rotations, scaling etc. Put this object into background
layer. In foreground layer you should have a terrain. Now you are ready
to run RandomCloner from Additional pop-up menu.
|
 |
Set number of clones you need, angle limits etc. Don't mark
'align with normals' because grass should grow always up - in the
same direction you created the model. If you mark it, grass will grow perpendicularly
to polygons like a spikes or something. |
| |
You can use the same terrain you used for grass creation and
the same weightmap. Or create new weightmap from previous one and use it
to tell RandomCloner where you want to get the clones on the terrain. |
| |
The same way you can clone flowers and old leaves in grass.
This tool can be really useful. |
